Huge fishable area

Fishing will begin at 12:00 AM on Friday, February 12th, 2021 and end at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 28th, 2021.

  1. Fishing Boundaries are Zone 14- North Channel from Sault Ste Marie to North Shore to the east of Phillip Edward Island including Collins Inlet and up to the mouth of the French River. Fishing within McGregor Bay, Fraser Bay, Killarney Bay, and Baie Fine is permitted. South Bay of Zone 13 is also permitted. All of Zone 10 lakes are also open for this event. Any in-land lake within this region is permitted. See tournament Map for more details.
  2. All participants must adhere to the fishing zone limits and restrictions

Zone 10

    • Walleye – Season: January 1 to March 31 and third Saturday in May to December 31 Limits: S-4 and C-2; not more than 1 greater than 46 cm. (note: closed all year in La Cloche Lake).
    • Pike – Season: open all year Limits: S-6; not more than 2 greater than 61 cm, of which not more than 1 is greater than 86 cm, and C-2; not more than 1 greater than 61 cm, none greater than 86 cm.
    • Lake Trout – Lake Trout Season: January 1 to Labour Day Limits: S-2; not more than 1 greater than 40 cm, and C-1.
    • Manitoulin Island: Lake Trout – S-2 and C-1; no size limit; open from Jan. 1 – Sept. 30.
    • Whitefish – Season: open all year Limits: S-12 and C-6
    • Rainbow Trout – Season: open all year Limits: S-2 and C-1

Zone 13

    • Walleye
    • Pike

    • Whitefish
    • Rainbow Trout

Zone 14

    • Walleye – Season: January 1 to March 1 and May 1 to December 31 Limits: S-2; in one day, possession limit of 4, none between 41-56 cm, not more than 1 greater than 56 cm, and C-1; in one day, possession limit of 2, none between 41-56 cm, not more than 1 greater than 56 cm
    • Closed all year – McGregor Bay (Lake Huron) – north of a line drawn from the most westerly point of McGregor Point to the most easterly point of land of Little La Cloche Island, including Iroquois Bay
    • Pike – Season: January 1 to March 1 and May 1 to December 31 Limits: S-2; in one day, possession limit of 4, not more than 1 greater than 86 cm, and C-1; in one day, possession limit of 2, not more than 1 greater than 86 cm

Any participant requiring a fishing licence, as per provincial regulations, is required to have a valid fishing licence to participate in the derby. All participants will abide by the Ontario Fishing Regulations.
